Install but no video on first boot up

I have installed suse 10.2 few times on one system and everytime the install runs and goes through smoothly yet I have no video upon the first actually boot up, or boot ups after. The monitor power button blinks as if it were not receiving video. I have no clue how to fix the problem? I have no way of fixing anthing since i am never actually able to get an actual boot up with video. Please help

Yes the grub menu is there, but i have no video even in failsafe. The splash screen and everything is visible all the way up to actually loading the desktop is seems, then nothing. Im using a pci-express nvidia 7 series card. Its hard to tell, but when I press the power button on my PC the computer goes into auto shut down and the Suse shut down sequence appears similiar to the start up splash screen. Soooo it must be at the desktop, though i cannot see it lol.

I would try to go to a console by hitting ctrl-alt-f1. If that works, maybe think about proprietary driver installation- seemed to fix some off the wall issues for me in the past.

You can install in Text Mode and if that succeeds you have any number of ways to deal with the problem using the command line.

If you are able to get to the command line first try running sax2 to see of you can get your video issue fixed.
