    Screen Resolution

I have a Dell Inspiron 640m with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 945 Graphics Adapter.

SuSE detected the adapter and display just fine. But, under Control Panel > Graphics Card and Monitor, it lists my resolution at 1440 x 900 (which is what it should be at!)

However, my display is clearly at 1024x768. If I click on "Screen Resolution" (Also found in Control Panel) it shows my default Resolution at 1024x768, with 800x600 and 640x480 as an option.

How do I get it to display at the 1440x900 resolution?

Go to terminal (CTRL-Alt-F2) and as root run sax2. That might do it.

Whatever sax2 does, it just runs and hangs. It doesn't seem to have done anything.

You may well have a hardware compatibility problem. I found a thread discussing a similiar issue as yours here Unfortunatly this thread does not provide a solution.

You may be stuck with the 1024x768 for now. Perhaps you should test with another distribution of linux.

Sax2 gives a screen immediatly. It simply is not working.

Go to Yast-hardware-graphics accept the current settings. You should get the option to test. (note this is sax2) does it run from there.
