SUSE Nvidia Driver from command line - Help
I have recently installed open SUSE 10.2, tinkered with it, loved it and then
tried to update the graphics driver.
After trying to follow instruction using YAST, rebooted and found
that the GUI won't come up.
How do I fix this from command line ? I can not seem to find any help.
XFree86 that everyone on the net is talking about is not there.
I tried to find xconf, xconfigurator etc... HELP....anyone
also tried to look in SUSE books, they all talk about GUI how
to's not command line.

You can use Yast from the commandline, log in as root and type:
This will start up the terminal-version of Yast this will make it possible to uninstall what you have installed. It works with keyboard... so have some patience while fixing things.Code:yast2
Installing a NVidia driver for Suse 10.2 is best done through the terminal. Take a look over here for a small tutorial: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-9746.html

Hi,
Thank you very much for your suggestion, I will try this out as well.
Since I want to convert all my computers, even laptop to SuSE linux, I need to learn
all I can of how to get out of things like that.
I did finally manage to fix or rather cheat my way out of the problem, just so I can
boot to GUI. My solution was to rename some files as I was desperate to do something
mv xorg.conf xorg.conf.old
mv xorg.conf.install xorg.conf
nothing else seems to have worked at 2am.
Does anyone know hot to make SuSE 10.2 actual windows semi transparent or translucent?
