GUI wont start
My GUI wont start. I installed Linux SuSE 6.1 I tried almost all the tricks & commands but still wont start.
I tried startx & it gave me the following error.
There is no Link /var/X11R6/bin/X to /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_xxxx which is the binary of the installed X-Server.
Please link the files as mentioned above or install the X-Server and run xf86config again.
I' m aborting now.
I tried SaX2
It gave me the option to configure the mouse.monitor, keyboard, resolution & the graphics card in graphical mode but after configuring it says……
SaX will try to start the X Server. If the desktop is corrupted you can use [Ctrl-Alt-Backspace]
To kill the actual running server.Do you want to run the server now ?
If I press enter the screen goes off nothing appears on the screen.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
