How to repair MBR?
I was using window XP. After some time I partitioned my computer into Window XP and Linux. Suddenly my window crashed and I reinstalled it. After this when I turn on my computer, it directly opens window. I enter into Linux only using the Linux CD.
How can I restore the previous set up, which gives me the option where to go with out using the Linux CD?
Thank you in advance for your help.

welcome to the forum
well, if you're using lilo, and your linux / directory is on /dev/hda2, then try this:
1. boot from your rescue CD with a command like "linux root=/dev/hda2"
at the boot prompt
2. give command "lilo" to reload all your OSes--assuming /etc/lilo.conf is OKthe sun is new every day (heraclitus)
