WHYerless problem
Suse 10.1 was the best linux distro to date, then it was topped that with Sled10 - I personally loved both these, and my wirelesscard D-link DWL510 worked flawlessly out of the box..
I was really looking forward to the 10.2 release, but it seems as if support for my wireless card has been removed for some reason... Its been a long time since i had this problem and I don't want to spend time fixing it.. If someone has a quick fix not involving ndiswrapper i would give it a go. Last time I used ndiswrapper I spent two weeks on the internet trying to find drivers that worked. And silly me I've lost the disk i stored them on
I also have a wireless usb card from 3com, but I've never tried to make it work - since my dlink card always is configured automatically...
Bye bye suse... yet another great distro i can't be bothered to use..
Just one question to end it all - why do the put madwifi and wireless support on the extra repositories and not on the DVD?? somehow that seems a bit wierd....

Well you should go and see if D-link DWL510 is supported by madwifi. If it is install madwifi with yast and your good to go.

Well, I have already done that, I think my card used to work with madwifi before. Anyway - madwifi is not available in yast, because the package isn't present on the dvd... go figure??
Anyway, I have downloaded it the hardway and installed it through zen is it... But my wifi card is still not showing up in the network setup app.
