Having Trouble With 3d Acceleration With An Ati X800 XL
Hello.
I have an Ati X800 XL video card and for the past few days I have been trying to set up my 3d acceleration in openSUSE 10.2.I installed the fglrx drivers by closely following the instruction in this link http://en.opensuse.org/Howto/ATI_Driver. The driver installs fine but I do not seem to have 3d support.
When I run glxinfo it still shows the MESA driver in the opengl section.I reinstalled the drivers a few times without any success.
I know these ati drivers should work, because I managed to set up 3d support in Ubuntu. However, Ubuntu would not shutdown properly so I moved to openSUSE but now I have this problem.
I would appreciate any input on the matter.Thank you in advance.
Here is my xorg.conf if that would help

After half a dozen reinstalls the driver finally works and I can enjoy openSUSE to its full extent
