is it bad to install this kernel? 2.6.20_rc6

I'd like to upgrade my kernel, and I have several options. Firstly, uname shows:
    Code:
    2.6.18.2-34-default
    I have three choices:
    1. kernel-default-2.6.18.5-181.1.i586.rpm
    2. kernel-default-v2.6.19_rc3-17.1.i586.rpm
    3. kernel-default-2.6.20_rc6-25.1.i586.rpm

I'd like to get the last one. The thing is, the source is about 46MB, but the rpm is over 200MB!!! Is it worth getting 2.6.20.... despite its size? Should I just stick with 2.6.19 version? Support for ACPI for laptops is improved circa 2.6.19.

    hi felipe1982 !

Feisty Fawn 7.04, developement version of next Ubuntu release is using 2.6.20.rc4 kernel and its pretty good. i already compiled 2.6.19.1 and .20.rc4. functionality depends on options that you select on compliation.

i would suggest you to download latest and compile it according to your needs and hardware compatibility.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
