I've just realized that that was the broken menu.lst file which didn't work! I'll post the correct one later on. Is it possible that the problem can be hardware related? If it can be how can I check and hopefully fix it?

i could be hardware related problem but i want to check menu.lst file first.
if menu.lst file is correct then we will look in hardware.
