Exclamation Installation issue: can't install from CD-ROM and Harddisk

    Hello,

I'm trying to install openSuSE 10.2 from a DVD.
However after I chose the language and "new installation", a message box pops up and says something like "can't read device /dev/sr0 CD-ROM......"

so i tried the other way round, i chose installation from harddisk at the bootloader and typed in the device name and the location of the directory that holds all the files extracted from the .iso image. It boots into the installation screen, but the same message box appears.

And then I searched openSuSE's wiki and tried the boot line: "install=iso:/dev/......iso", however, no go.

Can anyone please give me some advice? Thanks!

P.S. My PC installs FC6, Mandriva free 2007, and Ubuntu 6.10 without any problem by the "boot from CD" method.

Did you do a md5checksum or use the verify disk at the beginning of the installation? Could be a bad download/disk.
