Hi New Here
Hi there folks,
I too have downloaded SuSe 10.2 Live DVD and DVD. I've been trying the Live DVD and love it. I nplayed with KDE and GNOME, but which one? Doe it matter? Kinda like GNOME I guess. Answered my own question. Hehe. But, I have another question, will OS automatically format the HD or should I wipe the HD? I will be setting up a dual boot.
I may be posting back for more help.
Currently my system looks like thins.....
Intel Cel 2.93Ghz OCed 5% 3.04Ghz
1Gb pc3200 sdram
Radeon 9550 256 Mb AGP
Maxtor 120 Gb 7200 rpm w/ Win XP
WD 10 Gb w/ a bunch of non-sense on it that I don't care about.
Thanks Guys,

If you are dual boot you need to first install Windows. create the partition to what you plan to use for windows. Leave the rest unpartitioned for Linux. Install Linux and it will create the partitions it needs. By default 3, swap,/(root), and home.
If you have Window already installed use partitioning software to adjust the size and leave remaining unpartitioned.

Gogalthorp,
Thank you.
So will the 10 Gb HD be enough for SuSe 10.2 for now? I just want to get the feel for it before I buy another LARGER HD.
Thanks again.
P.S.
I'm liking KDE better than Gnome. Will I have the option of to choose which one when installing?

Just trying it out?
On this end I'm using Suse v10.0 and 4gb is all it takes, so odds are your v10.2 should fit, with plenty of room left over, on that 10gb space you mentioned.

Hope this helps.

If your just going to play that sounds ok. currently my root is 10.6 gig og a 20 gig / parittion But I tend to install everything and I have both kde and gnome installed. Also I have VMware server installed and all the optional databases. I recommend you install just one desktop and be choose wht you install. Be sure you do install the gcc ( c++ compiler) and kernel sources. you will need them if you plan to do multimedia.
