is there any other way to install suse 10.2 apart from getting your pc to boot off the disks.
ive looked all over the internet with no luck
i cant get my pc to boot off the cd is there any way i can install suse with a floppy?
or a program i can use to get the cd to work.
i can get the cd to work if im installing windows i use fdisk then type d:setup and the cd runs can i do something like this with the suse cd

To boot off of the "disks" I'm guessing your talking about your installed/attached CD.

Suspicision has it that you're doing something or have done something wrong and it's probably so basic that you can't see it, which is easy enough done these days if you hurry or are impatient.
If I might suggest, make a backup of the MS files you now have, put these on a CD (or a series of these) and then re-install the MS system you're using. Once that's done, then install the Linux OS system of your choice. You'll use the better part of an afternoon or evening doing this so first, put a pot of coffee on.
For what it's worth I've just re-installed Suse v10.0 on the "old" Dell Inspiron 5100 and rather than use the CDs, I used the DVD which came with the package; went smooth as could be and everything appears to be working like a charm.
