    Exclamation Unable to play DVDs on 64 bit SUSE 10.2, even after installing libdvdcss

    Hi,

    I've been trying to play DVDs on my SUSE 10.2 system and found that the CSS protection is keeping me from that.
    I've read through lots of forums and most people say that we need to get libdvdcss installed and the problem should go. I did the same thing, but no go.

    Now I begin to suspect that the problem may be the mismatch between the 64-bit SUSE and the 32-bit libdvdcss. Then I found a webpage teaching me to "rebuild" the RPM into a 64-bit format. The link's below:

    http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/178
    (Please see the For 64-bit Users part)

    The rebuild started wonderfully, but after 1 or 2 sec, problem occurs. I don't know what the lines were talking about so I post it here and hope that you can help me solve it, so that I can bypass the CSS thing.

    Code:
    .
    .
    (/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/base/fontenc.sty
    (/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/base/t1enc.def))
    Writing index file refman.idx
    No file refman.aux.
    (/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/base/ts1cmr.fd) [1] [2]
    No file refman.toc.
    [1] [2]
    Chapter 1.
    (./index.tex

    LaTeX Warning: Reference `dvdcss_8h' on page 1 undefined on input line 5.

    (/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/base/t1cmtt.fd) [1]) [2]
    Chapter 2.
    (./files.tex
    ! Undefined control sequence.
    <argument> {\bfdvdcss
    .h} (The {\em libdvdcss\/} public header )
    l.3 ...ss\/} public header )}{\pageref{dvdcss_8h}}
    {}
    ?
    In the end, it says:
    Code:
    .
    .
    No file refman.ind.
    [9] (./refman.aux)

    LaTeX Warning: There were undefined references.

    LaTeX Warning: Label(s) may have changed. Rerun to get cross-references right.

    You should be able to install everything you need from the non-OSS disc that comes with SuSE. I installed all the dvd libs from there when I installed my 64bit SuSE10.1, and DVDs run with no problems.
