A little Emulator Help...
Hi, I'm a sorta newbie with some background in linux.
I've got a presentation this monday to do on linux vs Windows. I have to present it in Powerpoint 2003. But I need to do this in linux - I've tried the latest version of Wine and can't get it to work.
Unfortunatly I haven't my laptop with me at the moment but I'm running a SuSe 10.0 OSS on a 224mb RAM. Wine does work just not with OFFICE 11.
Is there another free emulator or something around?
Much obliged..

I've got two solutions:
1) There's Crossover Office - you can get a 30 day trial here: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/...d_trial_linux/
2) Why not use OpenOffice? Is there any reason you must use MS Office?Looking for a distro? Look here.

use the slideshow presentation feature in open office, you can save your file in a format compatible with powerpoint so you can run it and edit it in powerpoint later if you need to do so.

Thanx for the tips - I might try Crossover.
I would use open office if my tutors hadn't specifically told me that it has to be done in Powerpoint. It is the obvious solution.
But I've figured how to get Powerpoint Viewer 2003 working on wine so I'll problably use that.
Thx again,
