    WLAN Problems

I am a newbie to Linux, and I have a wireless network, and I can connect to it through the laptop that I put SuSe on, yet I cannot go online, nor access any network files, Firefox says "Server not found" The SuSe recognizes the card, though, it tells me that the connection to my network is strong, it even says the name of the network, which it wouldn't know if it was not connected to it. Did/does anyone have this problem? Please help.

    Wlan problems

Can you put some more information about the version of SuSE and the name of the wireless that you have, but in any case try to run as a root:

iwconfig (to see the available cards)
and after do: iwlist (eth1 or wlan1) scan

and please post the output and some other information so i'll see if i can help you.

Have you entered/checked YAST > Network Services > Network Card and entered all the relevant connection info for your ISP settings, especially the NameServers (DNS) settings?

I was having a similar problem.
After much tweaking around I found that it was due to VMwareWorkstation which created virtual interfaces.
I got my wireless to work after I uninstalled it.
Even ethernet had the same problem

I have Suse 10.2 and Intel 3945ABG wireless connected by Netgear.

How did Vmware solved your problem? Can you discuss your solution?
