hi Prashant,
Welcome to the LinuxForums.
first of all create free space for SuSe. you can user any Partition Manager to Shrink Partitions. leave new space as unpartitioned/free. start SuSe installation and select 'unpartitioned/free' space in Partition Section. installer will create and format partitions for you. Dual boot is default in all Linux distros. dont change anything in Boot Loader section during installation. installer will install GRUB boot loader and you will have choice to boot up either OS at startup.

Thanks Casper.
How much space do you think i can unfreeze for suse.
and my understanding from you reply is as following correct me if i am wrong
1) Free about 10 GB from my hard drive.
2) Boot using DVD.
3) Install Suse and some down the line in installation where i will get a option of boot i will just accept (ofcourse i will read that) that go forward
4) Enjoy XP & Linux
Let me know if i am wrong any where.
Thanks & Regards

- 02-18-2007 #5Thats enough if your just going to play but it does not allow much elbow room for installing and using. Personally I'd set aside 20-30 Gig

- 02-18-2007 #8download GParted LiveCD, burn its .iso image to CD and boot from it. its one of the best partition manager. you can use SuSe Installation DVD too. installer allows partition resizing but i prefer GParted only. How can i make a free partition as i dont have XP cd?
