    Post SUSE 10.0 Laptop questions

    Hello all,
I am an Information Security student who is finally diving into linux. We learn using suse linux and so I have installed suse linux 10.0 onto my laptop.(intel celeron m 1.6 ghz.) <I wont have the class until next quarter or so, Im trying to get a heads up before heading into the class> Anyway ive found that the KDE environment is the "one for me" and I absolutely love this distro. <ive only had breif experience with redhat back in the day> The issue I am having though is my sound card doesnt appear to be working. In the kinfoCenter under sound it says "auido devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG" it says the same thing for synth and midi devices.
    it says "installed drivers:
    type 10:alsa emulation

there is some other info also...
for the most part I just want to know how to get my SC working so I dont have to go back to Winblows. <i am thinking about dual booting perhaps but i would rather not have microsoft products on here at all.

Anyway linux newbie here...Enjoying my climb with linux and thank god for these forums.

    Go to Yast-Hardware-Sound

see if you can configure it from there.
