    Arrow boot config files

    I am using suse 10.2. My bootloader part of yast is not working now. I starts and get stuckup.

    I am using lilo on dual boot system.

    I want to change the lilo configuration manually as bootloader is not responding even after reinstalling. Can any one specify me where on my system can i find lilo configuration files to edit.

    Also i want to switch to grub.So i want to change from lilo to grub. How can i do that with out using bootloader

    /etc/lilo.conf
    dont forget to execute 'lilo' command in terminal after making changes.

    Also i want to switch to grub.So i want to change from lilo to grub. How can i do that with out using bootloader
    boot up from Installation CD/DVD. select Installation -- Update. select GRUB in Boot Loader section.

    got it solved......... thanks

    but is their any other method to choose grub other than going for system update through installation cd/dvd

    it possible to install GRUB without using installation CD/DVD but its a bit tricky coz you have to create 'menu.lst' file manually.

    as i suggested earlier, boot up from Installation CD/DVD, select Installation -- Update. select GRUB in Boot Loader section. Installer will write menu.lst file for you.
    if you install GRUB using 'grub-install' command in terminal, you have to create menu.lst file manually.
