Configuring Linksys WPC54GX in openSUSE 10.2

I recently installed openSUSE 10.2 onto a Dell Latitude D600. The laptop has an internal wireless card, Dell TrueMobile 1300, that has a Broadcom chip that Broadcom is not building drivers for Linux for. If anyone has updated information on this, please let me know. I've disabled the onboard wireless in the BIOS and want to install the Linksys WPC54GX to activate and pickup the wireless signal for my network. At this point, using Yast, I've tried to manually install the card, but with no luck. I can't even get the power light to appear, let alone the wireless signal to be detected. When I reboot the computer, with the Linksys card inserted, the OS hangs up at startup. I'm OK with waiting until the OS is loaded before inserting the wireless card, but I need to know how to install it properly. I know the card works because it works on my Windows XP laptop.

On a separate but similar note, can someone please tell me how to determine the MAC Address of network connection in Linux?

I am a newbie to Linux, so please keep it simple for me. Thanks in advance for your help.

ifconfig for your own node. arp for network.
