microphone not working
Hi,
I have openSuSE 10.2 on a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop (x86_64, core2 duo, 1gb, 100gb, 945GM). My desktop is kde.
The echo test for the microphone in skype fails. I can hear sounds but cant record 'em.
I tried recording on the krecord as well.
I have fiddled with the configurations in kmix to no effect.
Any sugestions would be a great help.

make sure ur mic is on and the +20db boost too
moreover, make sure in Skype u use ALSA and then use QAMIX to sort out
the sound, its the most reliable program for ALSA drivers..sometimes in ur desktop sound looks 100% but in QAMIX u will find it really low...put the volume up there and then should be fine!
Happened to me too and fixed it like this in 10 and 10.2

Thank you .....
Hi Siggyxxx,
Thank you very much .....
Shame on me ... you were right .... I was actually doing everything right and then very carefully turning the recording "off" in KMix and then doing my experiments .....
I mistook the off position of the 'LED' as on .........
Any way ......
Thanks once again ......
