    Open Suse 10.2 - Partition external drive!!

    Hello Guys,

    I have installed Opensuse 10.2.
    Now i have external drive and i want to format that drive using suse format.
    how can i do that?

    yeah ! be very careful. format correct disk. execute 'fdisk -l' and note down external disk's name before formatting.

    Hi,

    can you please give the steps to do it?

    because i can see drive in the partitioner screen. and i tried to create a partition . heres what i did

    Selected the drive /dev/sdb
    Press create button prompted 1 /dev/sdb 2 /dev/sdb1

    select /dev/sdb1

    selected partition type extended as i already primary partition. and than it asked me for the size i specified max and said apply...it created extened for the whole amount....but than nothing...

    i cant cd to the directory i cant mount it doesnt show me even in my computer....

    let me know what i did wrong?

    you can not mount extended partition. create Logica; Partitions in Extended partition.
