    Nvidia, Audacity

    Ok,
This might be a dumb question(s).
ive got SuSE 10.1 i've used 9.2 a while ago on my 400 mhz machine with 64 mb ram it worked great! i love Linux great layout fast loading times and it just surpasses windows in my opinion. however i decided to upgrade to openSuSE 10.2 when i did it sais that i could not use the graphical interface and it just showed me a real ugly YaST screen and i couldn't do much at all. i suppose its my nivida graphics card.. k so, assuming i keep, 10.1 i wanna download audacity
when i try to run the rpm file it gives me some weird errors, im guessing i need certain packages installed to run certain programs right? how can i just install all those packages just so i dont have to worry about installing them every time i try to download a new program?.. or am i completely not making any sense whatsoever, ive taken a bunch of pills this morning and im chats mcgee. run on sentences galore.

I believe Audacity is available via YAST. Been awhile since I ran 10.1 but I'm pretty sure it was and it is for sure in 10.2 Use YAST to install it and you shouldn't have those dependency issues.

If you want to resolve the nvidia issue the installation steps outlined at nvidia.com (method #2 in particular) has always worked for me.

If you are trying to run 10.x on a 400 mhz 64 meg machine I think you will be disapointed. That is extremly lite hardware for any new full feature OS.
