    Gnome or KDE

    Hi,

    Having just installed Suse 10.2 and selected the Gnome desktop interface,is it possible to revert to the KDE desktop???

    Yes, at the login manager, just choose KDE as your session instead of GNOME.

    When you are prompted to login and type your password, in the bottom left corner click on "Session Type" then choose "KDE". Then log in. KDE should start.

    I duont think that it possible. If we choose Gnome in installation then Kde will not be installed except some kde libraries to run kde apps in gnome. So if you want to revert to kde, better change it in software section in yast.

    You can install KDE and GNOME at the same time during initial installation. All you do is select one of them when presented with the option to choose the default DE. After that click on the advanced tab, go to software and then install the packages required for the other DE. Alternatively you can just install one of them and then later on using YAST.
