booting from high cylinders
I installed SUSE 10.2 from DVD and all was well until I discovered that I should not have installed it on cylinder 24000 because my BIOS doesn't read that far. I got this error:
GRUB Loading stage1.5.
GRUB loading, please wait...
Error 18
BIOS was already set to LBA. I ran thru the repair option on the DVD and no longer get the error, but now it just boots into Windows, even though menu.lst has linux as default at hdo,6 (/dev/hda7).
Is my only option to modify c:\boot.ini in Windows? I could partition a chunk of my C drive for a Suse boot filesystem, but I don't know if that would trash my Win2K bootup.
Thanks in advance.
