Graphic Driver Installation: VIA S3 Unichrome, ASRock Chipset K8M800
After realising that I'm not gonna get my own PC to run Linux Probperly because of driver problems, that I now have tried to solve for several days and had some great help from various people around the web starting here, where they couldn't help and then was redirected to here, where deltaflyer helped me a lot for then in the end being redirected to here, where it seems hard to get help as well.
I have decided to wait until I get some new hardware to try Linux out on my own computer.
But I haven't given up smile.gif I'm now trying it out on my parents PC, But having troubles again, yes well guessed display driver again. This time it's an integrated card. From what i can see its called something like VIA S3 Unichrome or something like that, the motherboard is ASRock and the chipset K8M800. The graphics driver in sysinfo: says it's unknown.
I must admit that I haven't done a great deal of research into it this time, I have a look on google on Via's website and so on but can't see to figure out how to install the driver. So I was hoping that you could help me out. Hopefuilly I can get it working this time smile.gif
And just a general question about display drivers: Is it always that hard to get them to work, because it seems like all the other drivers works fine, I'm only having troubles with my display drivers, and is there maybe other distros that have better support for graphic drivers. Redhat, Ubunto or is not about the distro?
Sorry for asking what may seem as stupid questions, but I'm really not good at this Linux stuff, but determined to switch if I just can get it working!
