    SuSE 10.2 Refresh Rate/Resolution

prior to installing my nvidia driver i was getting 75 hz refresh rate. no the highest i can get is 58 is that a problem or should i not worry about, seems to be running fine, i also have my resolution set to 1400x 900 would that affect refresh rate, is this even a problem i should be concerned about?
id like to turn on XGL but last time i did i rebooted and it froze at the desktop, and if i try to turn it on it says my gfx card is not in xgl's database but, it is , its an nvidia 6200 256 mb card, however my cpu is only 500 mhz and i have 768 mb ram would this also affect xgl?

Same here. It is weird that my screen (acer AL71 shows 74.6 Hz refresh rate, but through KDE control center I cannot set it higher than 56 Hz.

Can you actully precieve a difference between 57 and 70 frames per second. If so I guess it makes a difference but most people can't.

Also try running glxgears from a console it will show the true rates your card is refreshing 'graphics'. Note changing the size of the graphic will change the rates. For my NVIDIA 6800 card with the NVIDIA drivers installed I get 10,672 FPS at the default size. Full screen is 1193 FPS I think thats enough
