Package Installation Problem
One problem fixed and another discovered. I am trying to install Evolution and Scribus.
I go to "install software" search for Evolution and click install. I get a "Preparing Software" and then a window pops up telling me that:
"Media Change is Required" and then some information about trouble mounting DVD5.
What is the deal? I came to SUSE from Mepis which is a very good distro, but I like the look of SUSE 10.2Last edited by devils casper; 03-12-2007 at 04:06 PM. Reason: Suitable Title.

Are you using the cd set or a dvd? One solution would be to disable the cd or dvd source and then setup online sources. There is a list of yast repos here. You probably just need the official repos, packman and guru.

I installed from a DVD. What's the purpose of having a GUI interface for installing software if it doesn't work?

It works fine for me using openSUSE 10.2 and the 10.3 alpha release. If there isn't a problem with your dvd, another option you have is to remove the dvd source and reconfigure it from scratch. This can be done via YAST -> Software -> Installation Sources.
