    Red face new to Linux

    Hello All,

Can anyone tell me if there is a free version of SUSE that can be installed on a windows 95 operating system. What is needed and how to go about the whole installation process.

    Many Thanks

Yes and no. Linux is an entire operating system. It is not a program you install inside of Microsoft Windows. So no, there is not a version of SuSE you can install in Windows 95.

However there is a free version of SuSE you can install on your computer alongside MS Windows or replacing it all together. It's called openSuSE and it's available here:

Just a thought - if your p/c has windows 95 I would guess that it is a good few years old. If that is the case you might be better off trying a different version of linux than opensuse (as this being a very modern system requires a fairly modern p/c).
