I have recently been given a computer which has a Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 TV card in it. I believe it's analogue (perhaps not?). I bought a little adapter for the RF plug it has, so I can plug a coaxial cable into it. I use XAWTV4 to view domestic TV here in Oz, and it works okay.

Two completely separate questions:

1: How can I record TV? There's an option in xawtv4 "commands" menu which says "start and stop recording" I click to start and wait awhile and then click to stop. But I don't know where it's storing the recorded file! (If it actually did it at all LOL!). I have tried using KDETV but that just forces my suse to crash and go back to the login page (what's that all about?). I tried KLEAR which just compains about files not being in the right place for DVT. Any ideas about any of the above?

2: I have what I believe is an analogue card (Leadtek Winfast TV 2000). Someone in an IT shop advised that I could get a converter box and put it between the cable going to my TV card and the aerial socket in the wall and it would allow me to watch digital stations on this card (all our stations have digital broadcasts here in AUstralia). Is this true?

Any help on these issues would be great.
PS: Tried using this card on XP64 bit to no avail.
Thanks folks!
