    YaST modules missing

Many of my YaST modules are missing. I noticed this at first when I tried to adjust the time. I've since changed to using NTP for that, so it isn't all bad. No screaming emergency, but sooner or later I'm probably going to need one of those missing modules.

    What to do?

If the software module is working, then install the missing modules using the software management tool in YAST. Alternatively you can use SMART if the software module in YAST is not working properly.

Ooops! The manage software module is one of the deserters. I looked in the SuSE documentation and see no reference to an application called SMART. What now?

You can install SMART using rpm. You can find out how to set up SMART using this article from the opensuse website.
