Segmentation fault
hi,
I am having some problems on my SuSE 10.0 mail server. I am getting the error "Segmentation fault" whenever i type vi or hostname commands. I get the error "Illegal instruction" when i run netstat command.
Another problem is with my qmail-pop3d. When i try to telnet to it , i got the error "-ERR this user has no $HOME/Maildir" after typing in the correct username and password.
Appreciate anyone could help me on the above issues.
Best Regards

thanks for the reply. No, i did not make any changes to the system. I notice this only when i wanted to edit a file using vi. I rebooted the server and my pop3d started having problem. also the system hostname is gone.

could be your hard drive??? segmentation fault sounds like harware to me.
this is a commercial product but it is the best I know to breath life into a failing hard drive.
