did you try it as root?
log in as root and execute this
    Code:
    rfcomm bind rfcomm0 <cell address> 1
in KPPP, select /dev/rfcomm0 modem and in Modem Commands, connection string should be ATD. its ATDT by default.
try to connect and check if it works.
i am using AirTel GPRS connection through Nokia 6600 right now.

okk.. execute 'rfcomm bind' command and check if it works. you must be logged in as root. we will enable normal user access after solving this problem for 'root' user.

The command rfrcomm bind rfcomm0 1(address) executed ok. Problem is I cant start kppd so I used smpppd instead by typing the command rcsmpppd start.
    Output

    rcsmpppd start
    Starting smpppd done.

Doesn’t start in graphical mode, so I cant continue with the modem configuration. Howcan I access kppp
Note that the command sdptool search gives the exact output below: -

    sdptool search DUN 00:13:FA:CF:478

Failed to connect to SDP server on 00:13:FA:CF:478. Permission Denied

(just a thot, how come my details (#,country etc)dont appear under my name yet i registered?) Anyway, not my main issue here
