    switching drives

    hello everyone Im having problems booting my linux os.. heres what happen
    I installed linux on my secondary master disk it was running fine then I switch cables moving my linux disk to primary slave and windows xp as primary master. i have a boot loader installed in windows xp now when i select linux to boot it wont continue... please help i dont want to re-install the os again.. thanks

    we need a little more info.
    is Windows booting up? which boot loader have you installed? what error message Boot Loader throws on selecting SuSe?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    uhm acronis OS selector is installed on winxp then when i choose linux it goes to grub, all options in grub are gone except for winxp.

    how do i fix this?

    did you edit /boot/grub/menu.lst file? boot up in Rescue Mode and post the contents of menu.lst file here.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    can it be restored in rescue mode?

    NO. you can't regenerate menu.lst file. you have to add entries manually.
    post output of fdisk -l and contents of menu.lst file here.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
