ASUS P5W DF Deluxe WiFi Realtek RTL8187 problem

I've just bought this motherboard everyone were talking about in awe, and found that SuSE 10.2 doesn't even recognize that there is a wireless network card on it. As wireless is the only way for me to go I just have to stay in XP all the time, because what can I do without network support? Can you help me out with this?

There are native Linux drivers for this card (Asus Wifi-AP Solo), but I'm not sure how well they work. This native driver is installed by default in the Ubuntu 6.10 (or in the new Ubuntu 7.04 Beta), perhaps you can try it. Or you can download and install it using the driver from Realtek (from here).

On the other hand, it seems you can get it to work with NDISWRAPPER, using the driver on your Asus CD (in the Drivers/Wifi/WIN98 directory, use the files Netrtuw.inf and RTL8187.sys).

Thank you antidrugue! Unfortunately those drivers seem to work only for 32 bit linux. Oh well, I have to "downgrade" to 32 bits it seems.

All in all your better off with 32 bit unless you are working with huge datasets or have more then 3 Gig of memory. I'm currently running 64 bit and I wish I had gone 32 bit. FOr the most bart it is fine but you run into all those propriatary programs that are 32 bit and though most will run there always seems to be issues.
