Small problem after installing custom kernel
Greetings All,
In an attempt to enable a kernel feature that was not enabled in SUSE 10.2,
I installed a custom kernel in said distribution.
With a lot of work, I managed to get the new kernel working, with most of the applications happy. That is, all but one.
For some reason, KDiskFree will not report on any disk EXCEPT the / mounted
disk and udev. An execution of the df command gives me similar results. However, if I umount then mount any disk, it then shows up in the display.
I should also mention that I have modified the /etc/fstab to do mounting by
label rather than /dev/sdxx. I find this quite convenient, as I do not always boot up with the same disks attached.
Before my kernel upgrade KDiskFree worked OK with the custom FSTAB.
To minimize problems I used the same kernel source level as came with the distro (2.6.18.
.
I am not an expert in this kernel build stuff, so any help, ideas or advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance.
Rich
