Question Need some openSUSE 10.2 Help!!!

I just installed openSUSE 10.2 on my Dell laptop with a dual boot with Windows XP. Some problems I'm having is coping my music files from Windows to openSUSE, playing CD's and DVD's, using max battery when I'm just using my laptop's battery, and pairing my bluetooth devices. Also can I install software from CD's like printer set-up, PDA software, etc... Also is it a good idea to download and install anit-spyware software, like Ad-Aware SE, Spybot Search and Destroy, and install Norton Anti-Virus or does openSUSE have built in anti-spyware and anti-virus software like Macs have?

Neither Linux or Mac have anti-spyware or anti-virus built in, they are both just designed in such a way that a normal user (or processes running under that user) cannot do mass damage to the system not to mention the fact that Windows is deemed a much bigger target for this type of malware anyway. In short unless you are running a linux server that will be in contact with Windows boxes there is no need for antivirus. SUSE is already configured to run a firewall, you can check up on it in YaST.

For CDs and DVDs you may find this link handy. As for bluetooth, launch YaST and go to the hardware section to enable bluetooth. Although this was a first in 10.2 that I noticed you may need to also enable the bluetooth service in YaST > System > System Services. I do find Linux a bit harder on laptop batteries for some reason but you should make sure that your CPU is underclocking itself when disconnected from the mains. Again, there is a powermanagement utility in YaST under system.

    Question

Thanks for the help bigtomrodney. I've been using Windows XP for a long time and I'm just having trouble getting used to openSUSE 10.2 on my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. And I feel like I have to be a programmer in order to download programs from the internet and I don't know where to go when a program, like my Wi-Fi finder, doesn't run. Does anyone know if there's any good openSUSE Linux books I can read to better understand openSUSE 10.2 and make the transition from Windows XP to Linux openSUSE 10.2?
