Ahh!! KDM won't login to Samba server.

I've been try to get this to work for hours! Samba responds correctly to smbclient and all the other samba utilites (from the remote machine), but when I try to login as a domain user, KDM encounters a Critical Error and tells me to check the logs, but the logs show nothing.

I'm using openSuSE 10.2, can somebody please help?

    :drown:

Are you using your domain with your user id? I think your user ID needs to be "domain\user". If the "\" doesn't work, try "/". You can also check the /var/log/messages for any clues as to what may be going on as well.

KDM asks for the username, password and domain (as a dropdown).

    So I put in:

    Username : james
    Password : <mypassword>
    Domain : INTERNAL.INT

    should I put in:

    Username : internal.int/james
    Password : <mypassword>
    Domain : INTERNAL.INT

because that doesn't sound right. Why wouldn't they just code in to automatically put internal.int/ in front of the username. Never the less, I will try it.
