    3d desktop problems

    Hi folks,

After activating 3d desktop acceleration screensaver stopped working. If I press "Test" button it shows OK, but never starts by itself. I tried several of them, none would work. Also I can't disable 3d acceleration - I clear the checkbox in Sax2, press OK and then Save, but when launching launch Sax2 again that checkbox is set again and 3d acceleration still works even after reboot. Any ideas?

    [openSuse 10.2 x86-64, KDE]

    TIA

To disable 3d accel. you need to edit the xorg.conf file and set the driver back to vesa.

I have had the same problem with the screen save in 10.1 Though it never worked right for me. The solution was to run xscreensaver-demo.

I put a short cut on the desktop to xscreensaver-demo which I run each time I log on. You can also put this in a startup script for KDE
