    I would try and download the fc5 rpm and install it using yast http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/trench/15408.html

    Well, I did that, and a window popped up that said it was initializing, then it went away, and my console was back to normal. I opened up Gaim and no Xfire plugin.

    Any other suggestions?

    Have you installed gaim-dev? It might be needed. After that, trying installing gfire again.
