    ndiswrapper help

    Hi everyone,
I am looking for a good guide for ndiswrapper on suse 10.2, I am trying to get my bcm 4306 working but with no joy at the moment. Also does anybody know of a graphical interface similar to the one used by mandriva for setting up ndiswrapper in suse.

You can google for what you are looking. Anyway take a look here and here. I don't know if there is a graphical interface, but using some commands is not really difficult. Try and post if you grt any problems

Thanks for that I got ndiswrapper working - got the rt61 drivers loaded - used ifup to configure the wlan and ended up absolutely nowhere - tried network manager, still the same result, I'm beginning to think linux does not like my belkin card as mandriva just hangs when i try ndiswrapper. Oh well it looks like I'm stuck on wired network for now.

Try configuring again with NetworkManager. Then make sure that in advanced->hardware details->module name, you have ndiswrapper. Does SuSE detect your card or you have to add it?

    Thanks,
I have tried all that. Suse detects card but the settings and driver are wrong.
wifi manager shows that the card does not scan but this is not true it finds my router but just ignores it, although I like the look of Suse 10.2 I think I will just go back to Mandriva 2007 as I had no problems at all with that.

Sorry but I may be being very dense here, does this work with the 64 bit version or will I need to get the 32 bit version ?

Generally it's better installing 32-bit version due to compatibility and functionality issues.

Thanks for all your help so far, I now have the wireless working. Next problem, I had to disable WEP to get a connection, any ideas on how to connect with WEP greatly appreciated.
