    loging in as root trouble

    I have a nvidia geforce 7600 gs graphics trying to install driver i have read a lot in this forum but what i am having trouble with is geting in as root from ctrl+alt+F2 it ask for login name and pass word i know my password because i can get into root from desktop when prompted for password to install gcc i have just loaded suse so i reformated the hdd installed suse again to see what my login name is and it is not put any where i have tryed all the names i have put in user name but still can not get it to work also how do you get back to the desk top from the root screen

    username for root user is 'root' only, press Ctl+Alt+F7 to switch back to GUI.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
