    Curious Sound Issue in 10.2

I encountered this error when I installed openSUSE 10.2. You are able to hear sounds while logged in as root, but if you log in as a regular user, the audio checkbox in the security---group management tab is not checked.

This is something that I've encountered in 10.2 for the first time, any ideas as to why audio privilege would be disabled?

I am not sure I understand the details of the probem? Is the regular user a member of the audio group? If not, make them a member.

I have read with SuSE-10.2 that a number of users with "sound blaster" hardware, had a problem where openSUSE did not make the users a member of the audio group, which caused them sound problems as a regular user. This was fixed by adding the regular users to the audio group. This can be done under YaST.
