    SUSE 10.2 compiz packages

Ok well I just enabled my desktop effects (compiz/Xgl) but I don't have any plug-ins. I was told that if I added this repository http://software.opensuse.org/downloa...openSUSE_10.2/, and installed a compiz-extra package. My question is where and how can I disable and enable the new features that I download threw Yast? There must be some sort of manger that allows me to manage my new desktop effects because when I installed the new packages nothing changed on my Xgl desktop effects.

You have to install package "gset-compiz", but I forget where I got it.
Anyway, you can try to configure your compiz plugins through the "gconf-editor", in "apps-compiz-plugins" section.

You can try to install "beryl" and "beryl-manager" from that repository, it contains more fancy effects than compiz (sorry compiz developers).

Don't forget to also install "emerald" and "emerald-themes" if you're using gnome, and install additional "aquamarine" if you're using kde.
And for all the package, choose that has the "-snapshot" suffix (it contains the latest stable release).

I tried to download beryl but something went wrong. The borders around my windows disappeared and my emerald themes wouldn't work. I removed all the beryl and beryl manager packages and went back to compiz. Unfortunately, my wobbly windows and my original compiz theme that my desktop was changed to when I enabled desktop effects was gone. I deleted and re-installed all my ATI Drivers and enabled desktop effects and Xgl, but still nothing. How do I get the compiz theme back and my wobbly window effect without downloading more packages?

Have you install the "emerald-themes" and "emerald-themes-manager" ?

Unfortunately, you have to re-setting your plugins through the "gnome-xgl-settings", because everytime you turn on and turn off your "Desktop Effect", it'll automatically reset to the factory setting.

As long as you haven't uninstall "compiz" and "xgl", you don't have to download any package, you just have to turn it on and re-setting it to fit your taste.
You can do that through "gconf-editor", in "apps-compiz-plugins" section.
