Help with Open SUSE 10.2, aMule, wxGTK.

I have been using aMule on Novell suse10.1 for some time & its good, no prob's. I have recently changed to Open Suse 10.2 ( which works well) but have had much trouble with aMule. It installs & works OK, but has a bad fault - on clearing a search, it exits. All the solutions posted on various forums say that wxGTK 2.8 & above must be installed to clear this prob' ( 2.6 is the default) . I have tried this in various ways, but get incompatabilities. It seems that 10.2 / aMule won't accept wxGTK 2.8 for aMule & insists on installing wxGTK 2.6. Even when I fiddle it & install wxGTK 2.8 as an extra, aMule still exits on clearing/ reseting a search. I have tried packages from packman / sourceforge / rpmfind, (all rpm's, as being a newbie I have had no experience with compiling etc), & also tried installing directly from YAST, also tried wxWidgets, but nothing seems to do the trick. Where am I going wrong ? Has any one an answer for this problem, preferably from first hand experience.

Hi, I had this problem some time ago. Try installing latest aMule CVS with wxGTK 2.8, worked for me.

Go to YaST and completely remove wxGTK 2.6 and install wxGTK 2.8 from sources. When you compile aMule, make sure you provide a path to your wxgtk-config
    # ./configure --with-wx-config=/your/path/to/wxGTK2.8/config
