HD Crash....how to copy files to DVD R?

My HD has gotten corrupted to the point where I can only boot into repair mode with the command line. I have 5000+ mp3 files on it that I want to burn to DVDs before I put in a new HD but I'm not familiar enough with working in command line. I managed to mount the HD and I can list the files but I don't have a clue as to how to burn them onto a DVD (actually it will take 5 DVDs). Anyone have any ideas? Can this even be done?

I'm running OpenSuse 10.2 dual booted with XP (can't get into XP either). hda6 is mounted as / and the files are in /mp3. I also have an hdb1 formatted in NTFS with room for all the mp3s if thats any help. I can't reformat that though without losing some other important files also on that one.

    Thanks,

    Scott

there are several ways to copy files. you can use any LiveCD having NTFS write support to copy files in NTFS partition. Knoppix LiveCD has NTFS write support.
    OR
Burn mp3 files to DVD using LiveCD having 'eject' option after booting up from it. Austrumi LiveCD is good for this.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
