    HELP with htaccess!

    Ok here is the deal I have been working on this for 12 hours and no luck, I CAN NOT get htaccess to work for the life of me. I am using Suse 10.2 and Apache2. I have looked at every thread on every website for help everything looks like it would work but dosen't! Can someone post their sample httpd.conf file or something? I am just trying to password protect one directory and 12 hours I have finally given up and about to throw the computer in the trash can. I know it is such a simple thing to do yet it refuses to work!
