    Acroread

Has any one else noticed a problem with the latest Acroread version? Suse 10.1 64 bit.

I just noticed I could not read a PDF from Firefox running
acroread ver 7.0.9-1.2@586 also it went into some spasm and ended in a run away process consumming 99% CPU until I killed it.

droped back to 7.0.8-0.4 and all was well again.

This may be a 64 bit / 32 bit problem

I had the same problem , but know i'm not using Acroread any more just kpdf or xpdf ,these two programs works great for me, Acroread was very slow and sometimes it's not able to view the pdf file from the first preview with firefox.

Was this with the latest version. As I said prior to latest all was well.

How do you tell FF to use another program to open a PDF link?

Type "about:config" in the URL window

find the browser.download.hide_plugins_without_extensions and double click on it and switch it to false.

the go to edit- preference -contents-manage.
and enter what you like to use.

    hope this help
