Suse wont start, nvidia wont compile kernel etc....

    hi...im new to this
i installd suse, managed to install wireless network and some other software i needed
i wanted to install nvidia drivers as well for which i followed a guide i found on the net
first when i changed inittab as instructed in the guide ...
first time i rebooted i got the suse screen and it froze
next time i got this what i should (x-less linux or whatever)-sorry for my english
i followed other steps untill i got to this kernel compile thing where i was missing something and i couldnt install drivers.i rebooted.
and since then i havent been able to start suse again in this mode.
i managed to start it normally once more by writing 5 in the grub boot options
then i installed some nvidia kernels as i thought i should do before
now i cant start suse anymore, either way -init3 or ini5
i started it in that safe-mode way(as in windows) but had the same problem with installing nvidia drivers again
i still cant start it normally
does anyone have any idea what i could do?

Boot in safe mode, if nothing happens try ctrl+alt+F1, that should take you to a bash-login. Log in as root.

Then edit your xorg.conf file with this command:

    Code:
    nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Once that opens go down to the "device" section, wher driver reads "nvidia" change it to "vesa" and press ctrl+o and then enter to save it and ctrl+x to quit nano. Type:

    Code:
    startx
Report back if that does not work

i dont know why its installed as i only installed kernels(as written before) and never got to the end with the installation as shown in guide

or should i deinstall drivers and try the process again?

If the nvidia logo displays when you boot Suse then it means your nVidia drivers are installed, if everything runs fine then you shouldn't do what I said you should above. That means your nVidia drivers work..
