    Unable to install software by using YAST ?

    Hi Friends,

    when i am trying to install software i got "Failed to mount cd:///?devices=/dev/hdb on : Mounting media failed " error. I inserted openSUSE 10.2 DVD in DVDROM. What might be the problem.

    I had the same problem on one machine. I did not have the time to trouble shoot so worked around it by booting from the CD and doing an update and installing the required things from there. In my case the computer is not connected to the Internet. You can also get all the packages from a repoistory So if you are connected to the Internet with a reasonably high speed connection you can disable the CD in Yast-Installation Sources and add some repositories

    I solved this problem by changing installation source from Yast to CD.(Even though i inserted DVD -- ).
