    SuSe and Internet :(

    I am using a ADSL connection .. i am using D-Link ADSL router .. In windows internet works fine .. i just can browse the internet directly .. but when i boot into SuSe10.2 I am having strange problems .. I am able to ping any site (for example Google) from the terminal but when i use firefox no site is opening ..

    I even tried putting the modem in Bridge mode and created a dsl connection in suse but still its not connecting .. i dont know what seems to be the problem .. please help ..

    Did you check the Firefox proxy settings? If you bypass the router completely and connect to just the modem, can you get online?

    Did you try using another web browser like Konquerer?

    Make sure you have DHCP is turned on in your router. If that is the case, Suse recognizes the connection instantaneously and you should have no problems with Internet, unless something is not set right in Firefox. Have you tried Opera or Konqueror?
